Lacombe Ellis Bird Farm
Take a stroll down beautiful trails, enjoy all the gardens, check
out the world's largest outdoor collection of bluebird nest boxes,
and spend a bit of time in the Tea House. Lacombe Ellis Bird Farm is
the result of many years of labour as Charles Ellis maintained 300 boxes around
his pasture that were set up for swallows and bluebirds. Open from
May long weekend to the long weekend in September the farm is an
incredible sight to see. It is always a good idea to call ahead for
tea time as it has become very popular. Located 8 km east on Hwy 12,
and 8 km south. Open June 1st thru Labour Day Weekend in September.

Michener House Museum in Lacombe
Completely restored to vintage era. This is the oldest house in
Lacombe Alberta and birthplace of the Honorable Roland Michener,
Canada's Governor General from 1967-1974. Located at 5036-51st
Street. Open mid-May to end of September. Mon-Sat., 10am - 4pm. Also
open by appointment Oct. to mid-May. There is no admission fee
however donations are gratefully accepted. Call 782-3933 for more

Flat Iron Building of Lacombe
The most famous flat iron building in Alberta. Built in 1903-1904
by the Merchants Bank, this is the notable landmark for the town of
Lacombe. Also has Interpretive Centre Museum displaying the
fascinating history of Lacombe. |

Blacksmith Shop Museum in Lacombe
This incredibly well-preserved museum is one of only two in the
province to remain in its original location. It is still a real
working shop and has artifacts from blacksmithing history. Located
at 5020 - 49th Street in downtown Lacombe. Call 782-7333 for more
